v17 EAC3 broken in beta 6?
#1
EAC3 tracks used to play fine in Krypton beta 2. Not anymore in beta 6 as I recognized now.

I am appending a clip with EAC3 (there are multiple audio tracks inside though, the EAC3 one has been chosen inside Kodi). [Download]

I am also appending the working log with beta 2 and the failing log with beta 6.

Your beta6 log is incomplete - not a single try was done to open the device in PT mode.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

The video was playing however. Only video though.

Play this: http://fritsch.fruehberger.net/samples/a...ments.m2ts and just this, turn on debug logging before playing it and then please post the log to a pastebin near you.

And as always: What about beta3, beta4, beta5?

I extracted your EAC3 stream, here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5572...tracted.ts <- this one is working for me. For you, too?

OK... here we go...

BETA 2: OK
BETA 3: OK
BETA 4: OK
BETA 5: OK
BETA 6: NOK (AVR shows PCM, no audio audible)

I append one more log. It contains the playback of the whole file.

The other 3 audio (2x MP2, AC3) streams play fine.

This EAC3-only TS plays fine.

An ffmpeg demuxer regression perhaps?

Jep - that was my idea, too and build a testbuild for martijn with downgraded ffmpeg - but - still the same issue. I think something in Videoplayer has changed.

Please open a bug a trac.kodi.tv link both samples and add "FernetMenta" <- the VideoPlayer dev. This is a regression and needs fixing.

As I did not follow kodi's development too much in the last 3 weeks I don't know which version did it.

If you have time, you could try the nightlies from here: http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/xbmc/n...droid/arm/

That way I could easily bisect.

Remember I don't run any android devices and always need external input.

Star with the middle build: http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/xbmc/n...bi-v7a.apk
if it fails: continue with the middle build of the older builds
if it is good: continue with the mid date build of the newer builds

That way you can do interval bisecting and only need to test 5 builds max.

Edit: Assumption Oldest build in that folder, e.g. 2016-11-13 01:40 82M works <- needs verifying first :-) (I think you know how bisecting works)
