I recently started using Kodi on my Windows 7 PC as an alternative to the discontinued Windows Media Center and notice that my DVD Rips, which are in the native *.VOB files VIDEO_TS folder structure, are playing back with a significantly lower resolution quality than when played on alternative platforms such as Windows Media Center or Media Player Classic Home Cinema.

Is there any way to fix this?

First step would be a debug log (wiki) posted to pastebin captured while playing one of these video files. That way at least we would know which version of Kodi you are running.

Thanks. I'll geta log file tomorrow and re-post. I just installed Kodi last week and the system summary says that is is: Kodi 16.1 Git:20160424-c327c53
