Cant ssh into my openelec from mac :(
#1
I´m trying to get into my openelec ( not a PI but an intel nuc, but the procedure should be the same?? ) from my mac using terminal but I get connection refused.
Is there a simple solution that i haven't tried?, I need to delete the myvidoes.db in order to reset my video library, a simple clean won´t work since I´ve messed up my library badly Sad
I´ve googled some old threads but maybe they are not relevant since their suggestions to the problem won't work.

Did you enable ssh in the OE settings screen?

Yeah. If SSH is still disabled you will get a "connection refused" error.

Ok, SSH is now enabled but still can´t get in, I get the following error text after trying to log in:

The authenticity of host '192.168.X.X (192.168.X.X)' can't be established.
RSA key fingerprint is 80:3a:a3:07:89:bc:37:b5:bf:67:6d:31:60:cd:4e:90.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? y
Please type 'yes' or 'no': yes
Warning: Permanently added '192.168.X.X' (RSA) to the list of known hosts.

just to be sure, you used root as user? If yes, I have no idea what's going on.

1.) Your existing public key is rejected by the server. Perfectly valid if you did a new install.
2.) keyboard-interactive authentication should ask you for a password, but seems it doesn't.

Can you try from another client, non Mac?

Hi. Yes user is root, but I disabled the password in oppenelec, is that the problem perhaps?
Not sure I understand this about keys, is there a way to check if its ok and setup correctly?

Enable password in openelec settings and you should be good to go.
