Android nVidia Shield TV (2015 & 2017 Models) - UPDATED: May 25, 2018
Hi,

I have the Nvidia Shield TV v2 model connected to an Arcam rDac that supports 24bit/192kHz for audio using the USB port 1 on the Shield. According to the latest information from Nvidia, the Shield TV supports 24bit/192kHz. What I find strange is that on the Shield, About - > HDMI - > Audio mode indicates "PCM 16 bit, Single precision floating point". Shouldn't this window indicate 24 bit?

After enabling debugging and connecting through adb through the network and executing adb logcat, I fetched the followoing logfile from the unit:

Looking thorough the log, I manage to find information about audio:

"UsbAlsaManager"
"WiredAccessoryManager: newName=hdmi_audio newState=24 headsetState=24 prev headsetState=8"
"NvAudioPolicyManager: setDeviceConnectionState() Blake device: 80000400 Capture: pcm3d0c
01-03 22:39:54.950   261 32401 I AudioFlinger: AudioFlinger's thread 0x4e634640 ready to run"
"AudioBridge:   Device=PEPPER  inputId=157  playback=pcmC3D0p  capture=pcmC3D0c  headset=0"

But I can't find any information regarding my USB DAC or any information about its operation modes. The DAC is working and audio is outputted to the DAC and forwarded to my 2.0 stereo just fine. I just want the Shield to utilize the DAC to its full potential using 24bit/192kHz. What is it that I'm missing?

Thanks.
