Whatever version of Kodi I try, these home movies in MOV format playback badly, with choppy video and out of sync audio. I sent a test file to a friend with a 2nd gen. Fire TV and he experienced the same issue. Playback of these files on any version of Kodi running on Windows 10 was fine, so I put this down to the Fire TV hardware.
Question is, can anyone please confirm that iOS created MOV files playback without issue on a Shield, so I don't waste my hard earned? Also I'm not prepared to encode all my movies to another format, stuff that.
Thanks.
I’ll check out Mediainfo today, but at this stage I’m just after someone to test for me.
Interestingly VLC on the Fire TV also had trouble playing any iOS MOV file, with the default codecs. Again, no trouble with Kodi or VLC playing these files on Windows 10, with no additional codecs installed.
