Hmm - that's a regular 576i25 (aka PAL) DVD.  Is the source material native p25 progressive (or p24 sped up to p25) - like a 'film look' drama or documentary, or is it native interlaced with smooth motion (like sport or an entertainment show, or possibly a soap)?

And just to confirm you are definitely outputting at 1080p50 or 720p50?

It is CSI Miami :-)
Now it is running at 60Hz at the TV and 59.94 at NSTV.
But it was the same when I tested the NSTV was locked at 50Hz at the setup (android), now it is set to automatic/recommended.
But sill, NSTV and Kodi should change the refresh rate it self?

Kodi will only change refresh rates automatically if you have it enabled in the Player settings (Adjust refresh rate on start/stop) and on more recent versions of Kodi you often have to whitelist the refresh rates and resolutions you want output (this option may only be visible in advanced/expert settings)

However your DVD is i25 (aka 50i), and is likely to be carrying content shot at p23.976 sped up to p25 (as is usual for US TV shows released on i25 DVDs or broadcast on i25/p50 TV stations across Europe). This means it should be output at 1080p50 or 720p50 for decent quality (which is also how it would be broadcast on a 720p50 broadcast outlet)

My setup is set to adjust on start/stop, and whitlisted what my TV support (TV: 480i/60Hz, 576i/50Hz, 480p/60Hz, 576p/50Hz, 720p/50Hz, 720p/60Hz, 1080i/50Hz,
1080i/60Hz, 1080p/24Hz, 1080p/30Hz, 1080p/50Hz, 1080p/60Hz) so that should not be a problem.
I will look at it again tomorrow, check the whitlist and android setting once more.

Thanks for the help so far :-)

I have now checked again, this is how it runs now:
NSTV/Kodi GUI: 1920x1080 59,940Hz RGB 8-bit Rec. 709
KODI Whitelist: 1920x1080p 60 59,94 50 30 29,97 24 23,98
                            1280x720p   60 59,94 50

Refresh rate                   Start/Stop
Rendering                       Can`t adjust
HQ scalers                       30%
MediaCodec (Surface)    ON
MediaCodec                     ON

It shifts refresh rate to 50Hz when watching the DVD, but still little bit lag in panoramic viewing, and others.

Is this the best setup, I see there is som other settings available in Android setup. Like YUV 422 12.bit Rec.709 and YUV 444 8-bit Rec.709, will this have something to say?

Hello, Is there a problem with Adjust display refresh rate in Kodi 18.1 ? Problems with 24p
Some videos send to tv 24p like 24p and some no send 24p like 60p what's the problem ?
_____________
Update : solved the problem I did not know about the new setting Whitelist

*Question
But now Kodi 18 can't Upscale 1080 to 4K with send original frame rate !

When I selected only all choice 4K from the Whitelist

Do upscale to 4K but frame rate send 60p not 24p

if want that Kodi 18 Upscale and send original frame rate Example ( 1080 24p to 4K 24p ) what should I do ?

Thanks.

What's xbmc? Ah, you mean Kodi I guess. SCNR. Cannot understand why people years after the rename of the app still use the old name. ;-)

Hi - I use a NVidia Shield TV 2017. Most of my content (mostly movies) are 4k HDR and some of them are 4K HDR10Plus. I own a Samsung TV which supports HDR and HDR10Plus. What are the settings I need to use in my Shield TV and on Kody to have the best picture/image experience I can have?

Hi,

I couple of playback issues (not sure if this is the right forum topic to post - if it is not please let me know I can paste the questions there) I've been facing on my Shield TV 2017:

  1.   My understanding is that Kodi would match the resolution and frame rate of the content that is being played (and maybe the HDR too). I noticed that the frame rate changes in my TV BUT the resolution does not. Here you can find the log file of a movie (Captain.America.Civil.War.2016.1080p.mkv) I played that is 1080p and my TV still reports 4k -> https://paste.kodi.tv/gawifusowi.kodi

  2.  There is one movie that is getting stuck every 4 or 5 minutes: Guardians of the Galaxy 2. I can play other movies with same features (4k HDR Dolby Atmos) flawlessly. In my test (which must have reflected on the following log) I got stuck on that movie 2 times. I then played Avengers Infinity War and MI-Fallout without any issue. Here is the log -> https://paste.kodi.tv/ulefiturok.kodi - I should note that I've tried 3 different versions of the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and the problem is exactly as the same. Please find below the media info for all the content I've tested.
    1. Guardians of the Galaxy Media Info -> https://paste.kodi.tv/socusaraka
    2. Avengers Infinity War Media Info -> https://paste.kodi.tv/uzesofawah
    3. MI-Fallout Media Info -> https://paste.kodi.tv/utusakekad
Thanks
Gilson
