v17 Jailbroken/TVOS - Can't update to newest kodi
#1
I have a jailbroken ATV4 and have been enjoying Kodi on it ever since it was jailbroken. I have been updating kodi by following the updates on the official Kodi Mirror. I then ssh into the ATV and update using nitoHelper. However with the newest version of Kodi I am having an error when I go to install the update. Below is the code I am receiving on my screen when running the update.

PS. using NitoHelper is the only way to install Kodi sucessfully. using dpkg -i, you receive and error regarding space on the device. And I have used nitoHelper multiple times to update in the past.

I actually solved my own problem.

1. I located the tar file in the nitoTV Application (Applications/nitoTV.app/tar)

2. Then copied and replaced it with the tar application in (/usr/bin)

All is working find now with the update!

Hi blastspawn, I appreciate your instructions as I ran into the exact same "file too big" problem you mentioned above, however I am not sure how to replace one tar file with the other using just commands in terminal.

Would you be able to "dumb it down" for me a bit? Or has there been any major change that I might not know about since you posted this, in terms of jailbroken ATV4 Kodi updates?

I just deleted the formerly installed version of Kodi (17.0) in hope of freeing up some space, but that didn't work either, and now I can't even get that one back on there from within Nito TV.. :/

Thanks in advance
