New User inquiring about the Shield

Hello Kodi Community,

New to the whole Kodi scene. Been watching a lot of YouTube vids of Kodi and Kodi stuff.. And after a few hours decided, that I want one. Hahaha. So I got on Amazon, and ordered an Nvidia Shield. So it'll be here in a few days.
I want to load Kodi on myself and want to have the best movie channels, with 4k hopefully. And really want the best quality. Like 1080p if possible live sport channel.

Where would a good place to start on this community to learn, and or be taught these things? Really hope maybe I can get an expert to help me achieve these requests. And then maybe one day I'll be able to pass it forward. To help someone.

Anyways. Thanks a lot everyone

I trust you have read the rules Official:Forum rules (wiki) and noted that https://kodi.tv/about/ The official Kodi version does not contain any content what so ever. This means that you should provide your own content from a local or remote storage location, DVD, Blu-Ray or any other media carrier that you own. Additionally Kodi allows you to install third-party plugins that may provide access to content that is freely available on the official content provider website. The watching or listening of illegal or pirated content which would otherwise need to be paid for is not endorsed or approved by Team Kodi.

In other words, all those channels talked about in YouTube videos are very likely banned and any discussion in this regard on the forum will run afoul of the rules. The Nvidia Shield offers an excellent launch point for Kodi, and in itself offers great legitimate content, http://addons.kodi.tv/

Oh okay. Sorry did not mean to break, or even try to bed the rules. I have a Roku 2 now. And a lot of (legitimate) add-ons; Netflix, showtime, hbo ho, ABC, Nick, NBA, ESPN, history, a&e. Ect..... Love my Roku, but think it's time for a little update. Especially now I have a 4k tv. And also for the fact that since it's a Roku 2. It's a little dated, slow, laggy. You know. Old. Haha. Anyways thank you for the links. I'll check them out for sure.

Thank you

With your Roku you're not talking about add-ons, those are apps.

Nearly all those are available on the Shield, but exist outside of Kodi. Netflix, Showtime, HBO Go/Now, Amazon video, etc., can be viewed on the Shield but through their official apps from the Play Store, some of these are available in 4K. However, none of these have anything specifically to do with Kodi.
