Hello. I just bought an MX 3 Smart Quad Core 4K Android TV Box 2GB RAM 8GB ROM. It came with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and Kodi Isengard. I think I heard somewhere that if I update one or the other or perhaps both then Kodi will not work anymore. The box and Kodi work fine right now. I want to know if it's a good idea to upgrade to Kodi Krypton and/or Android 6 if possible.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is just fine for Kodi Krypton.

Its those with Android 4.4.4 that are going to have problems.

If your box is performing to your satisfaction no need to upgrade the OS or Kodi.

When Kodi 17 Stable Release is released you can upgrade to it on Android 5.1.1.

If you can't wait you can upgrade to a Kodi 17 RC (Release Candidate) maybe less stable than Kodi 16.1 and cause you some problems.

Best practice is for you to take a backup before you update.
