When the option "Queue songs on selection" is active (Settings/Player/Music), songs that I want to add to the playlist (in party mode) with just selecting that song, are played and not added to the queue.

What am I doing wrong?

Think I've read, that with party mode, you do not queue the song, but play it directly. After the song finishes, it returns to party mode again. party mode is an "automatic" playlist. It's similar to how spotify acts

Ok, thanks for the explanation.

Because I have an app on my iPad that puts music in the queue, even in party mode, I thought that this would also be possible when using it directly on Kodi. But maybe this is a different technic...

in party mode, a normal 'queue' on a song will be prepended to the generated stuff, ie it will play as the next track. sounds inconsistent that this breaks with the queue songs on selection.
