Commercial Skip (EDL) broken in Kodi 17 final
#1
Just wanted to give you all a heads up before you upgrade... Unfortunately in Kodi 17 final if you use EDL files to mark commercials (edl_skip_field=3), the functionality doesn't work quite right. From what I have seen the screen freezes and Kodi continues to play. Reports are generally that when the end of the commercial is reached the video will resume. I haven't tested it.

From my research, it appears to be fixed in Kodi 18 and has been backported and will be included in 17.1. I don't know what the schedule is for 17.1. LibreElec is affected 7.95.2 and 7.95.3 from personal experience and I assume 8 is affected as well but haven't confirmed.

Here are some links which may be helpful.

If you skip forward, it will continue. At least it does for me. Using LibreELEC 8.0.0 on a Raspberry Pi 3 with MPEG license.
