What is the status of ScummVM game client (libretro core) for Kodi?

https://github.com/kodi-game/game.libretro.scummvm

ScummVM is a collection of game engines for playing classic 2D graphical point-and-click adventure games on modern hardware. ScummVM supports classic 2D adventure games such as Monkey Island, Simon the Sorcerer, Space Quest, and many more. It have recently have also started work to support 2D RPG games such as Dungeon Master. To this end, the Virtual Machines (called Engines) are complete reimplementations in C++ of the engines used in the original games. The number of engines is constantly growing thanks to a very agile and diversified development team and ScummVM is currently able to run more than 200 games.

Kind off-topic but it would also be interesting to hear here about status of a ResidualVM libretro cores, but as far as I know there is no libretro port yet?

http://www.residualvm.org//

ResidualVM was created 2003 as a 3D sister project of ScummVM, and as such ResidualVM shares large blocks of common code with ScummVM as well as some developers. ResidualVM is a cross-platform 3D game interpreter which allows you to play some 3D adventure games, such as Cyan's Myst 3 and LucasArts' Lua-based 3D adventures: Grim Fandango and Escape from Monkey Island, provided you already have their data files. Like ScummVM, ResidualVM replaces the executables shipped with the games, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed.

All game clients for libretro should be fairly up to date with the libretro upstream versions.

ScummVM in particular should be in good shape, as I fixed lots of things upstream (update to 1.9.0 release, fix all missing game engines, add support for compressed audio, some fixes to save games, ...). You can play either with joypad (which is quite convenient, but takes some time to get used to it) or with mouse (still a bit rough unfortunately).

For ResidualVM someone needs to build a libretro core first. And I'm not sure if it would need OpenGL support, which is not yet in RetroPlayer.
