.nomedia file
#1
OK.... I've tried several ways to create this file on my Mac. If I make a text file and name it .nomedia I get an error saying .xxx files are reserved for system files. And even then it has a .rtf extension. It seems a period at the beginning is not allowed . If I name it nomedia and change the .rtf extension to .nomedia Mac turns it into a folder with the file txt.rtf inside. So I am wondering how to create this file? and what exactly is the naming convention? And I think it should be obvious to me but i'm at a loss.

BTW.... I'm trying to make the file on a Mac but will copy it into the Extras folders I have on the NAS. Kodi runs through Ubuntu on the NAS OS and on Fire TV in another room.
