Pi3 Interlace problems
#1
Hi,

as usual first post and a problem ;-)

I like to watch football/soccer. So i watch a lot of it on S** .

Problem is that it seems that deinterlacing is turned on and off. If you watch the the playingfield in total the interlacing is off, or turns off after a short time. If you see only one or two players on the screen the interlaceing will turn on.

Strange thing is , that sometimes everthing is working ok (eg Championsleague yesterday)

So i took a peek at the streams with Mediainfo

Championsleague (working perfectly)

I tested with Libreelec 7/8/9 and on 4 different Pi3 and 4 different TVs.
Backend is TVHEADEND.Git 4.2 (ArchLinux on a PC)

Symptoms are on all platforms. So i assume that there is no hardware problem

Hints and suggestions welcome !

Kind Regards,
Alex

Hy White78,
It could be useful for the dev's if you add a debug log of this issue. The Wiki describe how you can create such a debug trace

At 12:44:46 the recorded Bundesligastream starts. This is the one where deinterlacing is crappy !

At 12:46:57.831 the Championsleague recording starts. Deinterlacing is ok !

due to the Debuglogging the streams are a little shaky, but without Debuglogging the streams are ok timewise.

Symptom can be checked if you watch Sky (Germany) Sport News HD. Its FTA !

Can you capture a small recording where the deinterlace is not working and post a link (e.g. to google drive or dropbox).

Yes, I can reproduce.
I've got a couple of files where interlace detection isn't as desired for our codec expert to investigate. I'll add yours to the list. Thanks.
