Yes, I think everyone just blows by the "big wall of words". I like the numbers routine, that does grab the eyeballs on a quick skim. blossom2 personal touch at the beginning draws you into engagement.

I'm not sure about the two prong approach, but a two page registration might be more applicable, with the warning regarding banned-addons, repositories, and piracy on top, to discourage 1st time posters that have come for only this purpose; then the proper registration page with a link to the big wall of words with protections in tiny light grey font
