I'm new to Kodi, but I'd like to try tweaking the XML code to reduce the clutter in some of the TV Show posters and thumbnails. Specifically, could someone point me to the area of code which would allow me to:

1) Remove the internet-gathered Rating number which is shown within each episode thumbnail, as I really don't care what other people thought about it before I watch.

2) Reduce the text content overlaid on TV Show posters - specifically to reduce the "nn / nn <eye-symbol>" in the bottom-right of posters to just the total episode count only. I mostly delete episodes once viewed, so all I need to know is how many items are available for each show. (What is the little eye-symbol there for anyway?)

Thanks for any pointers you might be able to help me with.

I've tried several other skins but most of them seem somewhat more cluttered and 'modern' (I use that word with mild disdain by the way, in the same way I look upon the change from Windows 7 to Windows 8/10 and Google's material design for Android).

At the moment I'm using pkscout's Estuary Mod which already allows me to remove a bunch of stuff I don't want from the user Home Page. I think Estuary MOD V2 for KODI 18 might be better still, but I'm not really ready to commit to such an early beta build.

For now, I'll try applying zerodogg's Ratings change to my current skin and see how I get on.

Thanks. I've manually edited the xml/View_500_Wall.xml file in my current skin to remove those two $INFO[ListItem.Label2] entries (as that's the only view I need to use) and that has worked perfectly, the ratings in the corner of the thumbnails are gone. I realise I will need to re-do this change after any updates to the skin of course.

Is anyone able to help with removing the viewed/etc count text from the TV Shows list now?

Just to clarify, the clutter I'd still like to remove is all the white content at the bottom of TV Show posters (including the square blob for empty folders and the eye symbol) but ideally just leaving the total file count number in the lower-right:
