 The problem seems to be that a whole folder in file mode can only me marked as watched/unwatched, if the content inside it is defined as something - in other words added to a library. You don't have to scrape the files, but you have to set the content to "movie" for example.

The answer is yes, with this workaround it is working again.

The actual question should be, why this is neccessary. It wasn't in the older versions of Kodi. I still hope this bug will be solved one day.

@Nostalgist

Issues are now handled at GH and noone looks at trac anymore.

The Kodi version you used might have been the actual one at that time, but that's not the case anymore. Would you mind open an issue at GH with a new Debug Log from an actual Kodi version, please.

Hi all,

I too remember and used the mark as.... on entire sources back in an earlier version. Was so easy. Since I had other life projects going on I’m back on a Shield TV using my all time favorite Media streamer....Kodi (18.5). Since the option passed away in Kodi 17 or something, I now use the genre node in the top to either set as watched or unwatched on all genres (hence all movies) since this node has the fewest entries of them all. 19 genres to be exact.

I played around with Library node editor to find alternatives giving no direct results. One thing that left me curious though was the  Rule option called Virtual Folder. Can this somehow be utilized for linking it to a path, making the node a virtual folder for all movies?

Kindly,

@goAMinD - We have a 4 line limit on signatures here (see the forum rules (wiki) for details).

If your personal HTPC is no longer applicable, could you remove it and get your signature slimmed down please?

Has the option to mark the entire folder as watched been removed again in the current Google Play store version of Kodi?  I don't see it in file mode anymore.

I am currently using Kodi 18.8 and I still cannot get the watched status on my folders to change to watched (i.e. on the basis that all the files, inside, have a ticked status).

Is there anything else I might try to get this working on my system?
