Android [Samsung] Kodi - nothing but loud noise after Android 7 update
#16
Okay, so: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk was working fine. This one removed an API22 format, namely FLOAT. That's not funny at all ...

I had another idea (currently building), please give the updated version a try when it appears. (Edit: fucked up the static initialization while coding blindly - needs some after work).

Could someone please test this build: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk and provide a Debug Log? Does that also work?

Could I get the feedback, please? Without it - no fix for 17.2

The new apk seems to work for me on a galaxy tab s2. Don't know how to offer a debut log. I had also suffered the unbearable static noise issue when using headphones. Thanks for the fix!

please check: Debug Log <- we need one to spot the differences.

This is a candidate for 17.2: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk without someone prooving it works and providing a Debug Log I cannot deliver this code. So please someone with that device out there, test it: with headphones and without and check if all is fine. Turn on debuglogging before it.

Everything is working correctly?

Edit: Not yet perfect. Need to clear dataformats, streamformats correctly - will push an updated version tonight.

And a final one: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk please test and provide me a log with analog out and without it. Thanks very much.

Edit: Updated the link.

Oki - we reproduced it. It's 100% a samsung firmware issue. As our policy is: Don't workaround broken firmware, we won't workaround that one. We reported it to Samsung via twitter - let's see if they care about their users.

Well...I'm getting an update to my SM-T800 right now. But I don't know if I ever had this issue as I have never used wired head phones with it and Kodi. So, if someone with a Galaxy Tab S10.5 DOES have the issue and then updates the FW and DOES NOT have the issue maybe we'll actually know if they DO care. Wink

Thought i posted this yesterday, i also had a similar problem with jet audio, but an update to the app fixed it, also finding my tablet doesnt like wired headphones with a built-in mic, not really relevant i know.

Any changelog available? You need to test with "vanilla" 17.1 version - not with any version of this thread.
