v17 NO PVR ADD-ON'S WORKING! HELP!
#1
Hello all,

SO... Background

I have had Kodi 16.1 running on 2 windows boxes and an AFTV with a Next PVR Backend running (Fairly) Flawlessly for about 6 months. There was some time shifting issues and stuttering so I figured "Hey, Why not upgrade Kodi!" Well... I regret that now...

Now the Problem

I push the APK to my AFTV first, Trying not to remove old settings as I had some custom key-maps. I load it up and I see a pop-up that says something along the lines of "Add-on couldn't be loaded due to an unknown error"
Well darn.
This not being my first rodeo, I do a full uninstall and re-install. Still the same problem.

At this point, I'm thinking it has something to do with my AFTV. So I load 17.1 on my Windows box too. But... Same Problem occurs.

Okay. SO. Next PVR add-on is broken. No problem. I have an old box setup with Argus. I'll use that till Next gets fixed!
WRONG.

I go to load the PVR add-on for Argus and it gives me the SAME error. Urg.
Media Portal is the only one that I have gotten the PVR Add-on to run successfully but I cannot run Media Portal on my network for other reasons.
So that's where I'm at.

I have looked on the forums and googled it but the only thing that I can find is that on 17 beta 4 they had this issue.

Hoping y'all can point me in the right direction! Let me know if you need any more information!

EDIT: Windows is 64-Bit if it matters

And what do the logs say? Where's the link to your debug log?

According to the logs, your NextPVR client is trying to talk to the server, but your server is not responding. I am assuming based on the addresses that the computer with Kodi that these logs come from is the same computer running NextPVR?

Since this problem is specific to your NextPVR server not responding to the PVR client (rather than the client not loading), perhaps you should ask in the NextPVR subforum.

2:57:21.542 T:25508 ERROR: ADDON: Dll NextPVR PVR Client - Client returned bad status (1) from Create and is not usable

Could this be the problem? I don't fully understand what this means but...

Thanks for the help!

No, it's before that:
Code:

12:55:50.970 T:29844   ERROR: ADDON: Dll NextPVR PVR Client - Client returned bad status (1) from Create and is not usable
The PVR client is trying to open a connection, but the NextPVR server is not responding. Since the client cannot initiate a session and connect to NextPVR, the client returns the "bad status" and that is why the client is then unloaded. As I said, the problem is the server not responding to the client.

Hey Juicebox did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same problem and I don't think its with the server (but what do I know).

If you open http://127.0.0.1:8866 in the browser, do you see the NextPVR web app? If not, and you've recently installed the Win10 Creators Update, I'd try rerunning the NextPVR installer (it fixes Windows temp directory that got deleted with the Windows update), and try again.
