I've made a small and simple shell script to make updating XBMC from SVN a bit less time consuming. I've only tested it on Kubuntu Hardy 8.04 Alpha4 but the variations should also work.
Simply unpack the archive to your XBMC for Linux installation directory (/home/username/XBMC for instance) and run the file. Assuming you are in the XBMC directory that would be "./update". If the update doesn't start make sure the file is execuatable.
For Ubuntu 7.04
For Ubuntu 7.10
For Ubuntu 78.04 Alpha 4
I'm running Kubuntu 8.04 Alpha4 myself.
If you run into any trouble, please let me know. I'll try to fix it.
