Alright fritsch. I'll just leave vdpau off lol. It seemed weird how it works with ubuntu but not Linux mint. Leaving it off didn't seem to add any noticeable negative impact to the system so I'll just keep it that way for now and who knows maybe there be some driver updates in the future. Thanks for for trying anyways guys

I find the menu layout, setting and some other things too different ( like the close and minimize buttons being on the left instead of right) and therefore annoying to use

There are different flavours of Ubuntu. Maybe some other (like Kubuntu for example) might fit better.
