Is there anyway to fix the IPTV Simple addon from disabling itself all the time? The EPG seems to break all the time

 What version of Simple IPTV PVR and Kodi are you running? 

IPTV Simple 2.4.14

Kodi 17.6 rpi OSMC

Disable the Build on Start setting and it should help. I'm looking into what's causing the issue. One of my test systems has the same issue and locks up occasionally. Disabling Build on start and setting the refresh to 1hr is the only work around at the moment.

Also try getting the updated IPTV simple pvr which is 3.3.4 I believe. It may be hard to find for a preconfigured system like OSMC and Libreelec. The pvr clients usually get compiled into Kodi itself.

@jamieb122 Ok, I've got my python setup updated enough to get your script to run on my server. But, I've run into another problem. When I add the playlist.m3u to an Automatic IPTV Network in tvheadend, I get a list of errors in the log console such as "mpegts: playlist.m3u - Animal Planet in PS Vue - scan no data, failed". No services are added, so I can't add the channels. Am I setting this up correctly? Is there anything else I'm supposed to do when I add the playlist?

 You probably need to set it to only scan 2-3 at a time (due to the stream limits on PSVue).

To do that, click Configuration->DVB Inputs->Configuration, highlight your PS Vue network and click "Edit"

Find the text box that says "Maximum # input streams" and change it to 4 (or whatever your stream limit is)

Hit apply, and then hit Force Scan on the DVB Inputs->Networks menu.

Let me know if that solves your problem.

@jamieb122 Well, I had the max input streams all the way down to 1 during my original testing, so I don't think that was it. I also just tried it again, setting it to 3 just for kicks, and it still gave the same result.

 What are you using for the playlist URL?

It should be: http://127.0.0.1:54321/playlist.m3u

Keep in mind if you have the PSVue EPG service running, you will need to disable it (it runs on the same port).....I'll update it for the next push to the github repo to be user configurable.

@jamieb122 That's exactly the URL I'm using. As for the PS Vue EPG addon, I've currently got that disabled, and it's on a completely different computer anyway so it shouldn't interfere if it were enabled. Tvheadend is connecting at least partially to your script, since it's actually reading the channel names when I have it enabled. It's just not apparently receiving any stream data through it.

If it helps, I'm running tvheadend build 4.2.2-10~g0aa08ae, from about a year ago. That's the latest version I can get without updating the entire system (which I will be doing in the near future, just not quite yet).

Still working on the set up (through Win10, krypton). (I appreciate your assistance as the guide did populate). As I try to start some shows in Kodi 'live tv' it "times out" when I start a channel, and then after about 30 seconds stops, no error message.

I venture to guess what's happening to you. The the EPG builds every time you start Kodi. It can take from 30secs to 2 min + depending on the length of days in your settings and # of channels in your service. So you start Kodi, the EPG starts building the EPG in the background. What you see in the guide immediately is the previous xml file before you started Kodi. You play the channel while a new EPG is building. Once it is finished, a new epg.xml is created and the service asks Kodi to refresh the guide (and I think it restarts pvr simple, not sure). That's when the streams gets cut off, so it is no error, just an annoyance on how thinks work in the moment. If you start the stream again (without restarting Kodi), it shouldn't bother you for at least another hour until the next epg.xml is created. 

Thanks Corelmailrx8, this could be the issue. Last night, I opened kodi and waiting, had it lock up a couple of times. I unchecked the setting 'build on start' and only have refresh each hour. Restarting kodi, and waiting for a while I was able to get a show playing.

I have a separate question: As I have continue to work on Kodi, I have wanted 1 epg guide which will incorporate 'OTA' and 'PS Vue', but as I have learned that only one guide can be enabled in kodi. I get my OTA through hdhomerun/nextpvr. Has anyone been able to incorporate OTA & Ps Vue into one epg set up?

On the Configuration->DVB Inputs->Networks Tab, in the row with your PSVue network how many Muxes does it show?  That column is pretty far to the right

# Muxes is 44, # Services is 0, # Mapped Channels is 0, and Scan queue length counts down from 44 to 0.

On the Muxes tab, click one of the PSVue channels (ignore your OTA channels) and click edit.  What do you see listed as the URL?

in a terminal.  Does it start to play in ffplay?

Also what version of TVHeadend server are you running?
