PVR for Radio -
#1
I've been doing some reading, and searching while my NooElec NESDR SMArt was being delivered. And I have yet to find the back/front end needed to use it as a FM receiver.

NooElec NESDR SMArt Premium RTL-SDR w/ Aluminum Enclosure, 0.5PPM TCXO, SMA Input & 3 Antennas. RTL2832U & R820T2-Based Software Defined Radio.

I realize this is a pretty basic question - but it is one that has thus far eluded my Google-Fu skills.

I don't think kodi supports SDR.

Thanks NickR - However this is what I was basing my question on. I appears as it is possible using a PVR

FM Radio Option

But I do see where he is using a TV-Tuner with FM module.

Team-Kodi actually have an experimental SDR PVR client for Kodi in development:

Kodi wiki http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:RTL-SDR_FM_Radio_Client

Website: http://esmasol.de/open-source/kodi-add-o...-receiver/
PVR Client source code: https://github.com/AlwinEsch/pvr.rtl.radiofm
PVR Backend (server) source code https://github.com/AlbrechtL/rtl_fm_streamer
OpenELEC thread: http://openelec.tv/forum/126-3rd-party/7...berry-pi-1
Raspberrypi.org thread: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewt...8&t=122372

As you can read you need a DVB-T dongle that is based on Realtek RTL2832U.
