Hey all,
A while ago I'm 90% sure either Kodi or the Kore remote app have new a notice that I 'would not be able to use Kore on screen keyboard to enter text' unless some option or other was enabled in Kodi.

I think I ignored it at the time with conceit, thinking ahh I haven't changed anything myself so why would this message be coming up now? :-p you know.. one of those lazy days where your brain is fried.

But now that I think about it, maybe it started appearing when a skin got updated or something?

Anyway I've had a look in the general options in Kodi,.. I think the message said something about a service on Kodi needed to be enabled... But I can't find any mention in the general settings about on-screen keyboards so...

Does anyone know what to do?

It's basically that when I search for something using the Kore remote, I get no Android keyboard pop up.

I'll simplify!

On screen keyboard not showing up at text entry situation! (Eg library search)

- no-one else had this?

You probably need to enable the following setting in Kodi

System -> Service Settings -> Control -> Allow remote control from applications on other systems (this enables TCP port 9090 which is used to send notifications)

and verify that you have enabled "Use TCP" in Kore server settings
