there would have been no reason not to, if you didn't insist on breaking VAAPI.
Note that the patch was removed since vaapi works again in mainline

Nightly PPA is working again here too. I did a fresh install

FYI Still reports 18.0-ALPHA1 Git:20170527-nogitfound and Compiled: Nov 4 2012

KODI-API-PVR won't install, but that's a different issue.
