Output 1080i when I open Kodi 17.3 on Fire Stick
#1
I have a fire stick gen 2 and I have Kodi 17.3 on it. My TV is only 720p, so I set the firestick settings to 720p. Problem is when I open Kodi 17.3 the screen changes to 1080@30Hz. (1080i?)

When I stream anything in HD, it stutters like crazy. I'm not sure if it's because it's in the wrong resolution. What's weird is when I go into Kodi's settings it shows the resolution to be 720p but the tv says it really 1080@30Hz. I cannot change the resolution in Kodi.

Also, when I quit Kodi, the resolution stays at 1080 until I change it back to 720p in Firestick's settings.

How do I fix this?

Switching the Fire Stick's settings 1080p seemed to have fixed the stuttering issues. Must be some weird bug in Kodi.
