C'mon, I don't know anyone with an Android device that ever caught a virus or had an exploit and sooo many people still have 4.3 and 4.3 android phones/tablets....

The fact is it all depends on what you do with a box and what vulnerability is present. If you never install any crap then you're safer than sideloading whatever you can find.
