Now before a admin bites my head off let me explain what my need here is. I have an existing WMC setup with a Ceton Infinitv4 and one xbox 360 as an extender. I have need of two more "extenders" and was going to use ServerWMC to enable using a rpi and kodi.
My problem: One of the TV's belongs to my grandmother who is 92. She's comfortable using her TV's remote and the built in tuner. This is due to our cable company threatening to encrypt the clearQAM stations soon. She only has access to "basic" cable right now despite the house being on a premium plan.
My requirement: I need some way to configure Kodi to be a front end that mimics a very basic cable box. I don't even really need PVR functionality, just the ability to surf channels.and maybe pull up the guide.
I've been experimenting with different back ends on my windows 10 pc and I've noticed NextPVR has a very similar option where I can start into live TV. Is there a skin or method to set up Kodi in this way?
