Actuclly it is completely missing the lib folder and just copying over the 32 version don't work hahaha. I hope this is the right place for a bug report.

pil has binary component, ie its more than just the module... parts are hardcoded in Kodis source.

I think the team was weeding out pil... but don't hold me to that.

So if they get truly getting rid of pil then no more image blurring or color matching? Or is there another module that this can be done with? My main concern is I have been working on a skin all year that basically relies on this module... and if it is being taken out in kodi 18 then your basically telling me I have waste 6 months of my life. hahaha I won't have it finished before you release 18 because I am still learning all this code stuff but I had a pretty good thing going that now is going to be stuck on kodi 17.... NICE.

No one said pil will get removed from Kodi.

I know exactly what is still missing, but most things are already working and therefore we already announced it.
