Req pseudo tv like features

I've found pseudo tv to be the single best kodi addon. It makes the problem deciding what to watch easier, you just choose from what is currently 'playing'. It also gets me watching content I may have forgotten about or would normally pass over.

I don't want to undermine the addon, but it is fragile and needs consent massaging to keep it working. Even when I manage to get it working, its only a matter of time before it becoming non functional again. And it is defiantly not wife friendly.

If a feature was added to Kodi that let you create channels that would select local content a set of conditions would be an amazing feature for kodi. Say create a channel that generates a play list of 50 movies that are in the science fiction genera and have been watched. Allows you to create a reasonable number of channels both movies and tv shows.

Not sure if you are aware that it's under development, version v.0.9.0 will replace the older, unstable version.

You can follow development here:

I am aware it is under development. I check back with it once in a while. Ironically the last time I had it running decently for the longest period of time was a few years ago on the original raspberry pi, it was prolly around version 0.7.x.
Since, I've found it to be very unstable every-time I try it with the rpi2/3.

I don't want to knock your work, the time you volunteer or python itself. I just think a native feature within kodi in c/c++ could have better results. I suspect much of the ground work is already there, could be readily reused and implemented pretty quickly.

I've had this suggestion/request on my mind for about a year now. Much of which prevented me posting was I consider it poor form to request features from pre-existing addons.

I'm pretty sure the team would agree that this is best handled via a plugin...

I'm sorry to hear the last time you had it "decently" running was so long ago... Since your nick is unfamiliar to me I can only assume you haven't been actively involved with debugging?

Either way... if you can be patient i'm sure you will be happy with v.0.9.0 though I must say running Kodi on a rpi1 is like running on a toaster.

Check out the below, get a realistic understanding of the performance of a rpi compared with higher power devices.

I followed your development in the past, but haven't much the past year.
I don't run rpi1's anymore, just an rpi2 and rpi3.

I am eager to try 0.9.0 when it is ready.

When it's released if you have issues let me know... I can't test PTVL on every possible Kodi device.
