v17 Kodi 17.3 crash - with logs
#1
Hi

I had two crashes one after another, it seems to be related with MMAL. Maybe @popcornmix has some insights.

Here are the crash logs, with some information (URLs) redacted.

Any idea ?

Not that I´m able to help, but you should probably try to enable debug logging. If it´s not possible via GUI, then do it via advancedsettings.xml

I think this is kernel related. There was a fix here which isn't in current stable raspbian.
You can get the fix by running rpi-update, but be aware that is an experimental kernel (although no known regressions compared with stable).

Alternatives:
Wait for next stable kernel bump
Buy the MPEG-2 codec licence, which means this bug doesn't get triggered.
Use LibreELEC or OSMC which do have the updated kernel.

Ok, I found that it was included in the lates kernel available through rpi-update, the latest stable kernel/firmware available on Raspbian is from 25/26 April, which is prior to that commit/fix. Thanks.
