I have a 1st gen FTV and was able to pair it's remote! All buttons except for context/menu work.

Also, I tried pairing the Mi remote to my laptop and iPhone but neither see it so it is not going into pairing mode. It looks like that is the key to getting this to work.

I just noticed that the Fire TV voice remote is on sale for $15. If it can be made to work, it would be a good alternative to the Mi remote.

Glad it worked for you, you setup is OK. I think the problem is the remote, either faulty or you bought an IR version

Ordered one to try. If it doesn’t work, will use with nVidia Shield instead.

I was wondering about that too but was able to pair it with my Mi Box using their pairing instructions

I borrowed the Fire TV Remote version between this one and the first one that has voice but not volume controls and, while the Kodi box sees it in the Bluetooth list, it will not pair with it Sad

I was under the impression that the latest fire tv remote uses WiFi direct for it's connection.

That would explain what I've been seeing in practice. Aliexpress and Ebay both list IR vs Bluetooth remotes, though, and the remote itself has a Bluetooth logo on the back!

Also, their web page indicates a Bluetooth remote. Click on Specs in the top right corner.

I have this remote, model XMRM-002. It pairs with my Rpi and Pi Zero built-in bluetooth just fine (use back+O to begin pairing). Default button mapping in LE could use some work but otherwise it is a good remote.

It won't pair with some old Atom/Ion boxes running LE, using various old USB or on-board bluetooth adapters. They simply don't see it. My guess is that the remote itself is fussy about what it connects to.

Hi Guys, first of all thanks for all the effort put in. I have the Xiaomi remote connected and working. I do have one problem though. Sinds executing the bash script mentioned in post #25 (https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2645790) most of the keys on my wireless mini keyboard stopped working. Can I use both the Xiaomi and mini keyboard together? If so, what do I revert to get keyboard working again?

I'm also interested in getting the Amazon Voice remote working! It has a lot more buttons than the Xiaomi version and it feels a bit more quality. I can connect to it via bluetooth but it doesn't get rcognized as a controller Sad

with the original constroller i had to change the nano .config/xiaomibtremote.evmap where KEY_COMPOSE changed to KEY_F5 to microfone button can be remmaped..

you need to keep pressing the back and home buttons together so enter pair mode.. and use the trust and connect option in libreelec
