custom 'set content?

"set content - directory contains' includes 'Movies' , 'TV shows', and 'Music videos'.

I have content in Kodi such as video tutorials, benchmark measurement tools, and demo videos (atmos, 4K, and 3D).

Is there a way to create a custom 'set content' directory type such as, 'Other' or 'Misc' to include the above items that would allow them to have posters, fanart, and thumbnail art similar to what is allowed for Movies and Music Videos?

Currently no.
You could use smartplaylists to filter

You'll really have to use .nfo files, and if you want to display them separately you can use either smart playlists or video nodes.
