Android Kodi Krypton Not Scraping Movies/TV Shows
#1
Hi All, I have an android box and have attached a 3tb hard drive to it. I have setup in Kodi where my hard drive is but it won't scrape info for my movies and tv shows that on the hard drive?!
I can play the movies in file mode but won't download the info, am I doing something wrong?

Any suggestions?

Short answer is Yes.

What you are doing wrong though, I don't know. The first thing that comes to mind is naming problems and where you have set the source.

How have you named the movies? Copy and paste 3 titles here. Same with TV Shows and episodes.

Show us your directory structure. Screen shots uploaded to here would be useful... https://imgbb.com/

or else provide a debug log. Instructions in my signature. Use the basic method. Once you enable debugging, restart Kodi then perform an update library. Post to a pastebin site.

Do either or both, depending how quickly you want to resolve the issue.

Hey Karellen

I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to the android thing and thanks for your quick response. All my movies are named correctly and in one folder, that includes tv shows.
Please have a look at the screenshots. I tried to move them onto a SD card but didn't work so I had to snap 'em with my phone.

Helps, but only a little bit. You didn't give me any details on movies, or tv shows, or directory structure as I asked.

Best to provide the debug log as well.

Movie title naming: Alien (1979), Rogue One (2016), Zoolander (1999).

Here is the log:

Hope that helps?

About file naming: wrong title for rogue one and wrong year for zoolander

You should try to check all your files name with https://www.themoviedb.org/

Also see something in your log:

Code:
13:07:42.122 T:18446744073112385840   DEBUG: DoWork - trying to extract thumb from video file /storage/0E18BB5918BB3E91/Movies/Mambo Italiano.avi

It seems to indicate that all your files are thrown in a big "movies" folder

So why you set your scraper with "movies are in seperate folders that match the movie title? (as seen on your fifth screenshot)

Or maybe it's just the skin you use that I do not understant correctly
Moanbag is in da place!

None of those appear in the log? And you can only access the log if your remove the plain from the end of the URL.

Hi all, thanks for the responses. All my movies are in one big folder. I use a duplicate hard drive on Mac OS and on Windows and all works fine. I'm absolutely stumped as I've tried different skins etc.

Perhaps I'm just not meant to be able to scrape info on my media on an android box?

I appreciate all the help!

Sounds like you have disregarded all the observations and advice in the previous posts. Re-read them.

This is also a major concern.

You will need to do some reading on how...
1. to correctly setup your directory structure
2. to correctly name your files.

The following should get you started which also have plenty of links to other relevant pages

Yet again, thanks for all the help. I've been using Kodi for many years, ever since it was known as XBMC. I run it on my Mac and sometimes on my media pc in another room. My current problem is with my Android TV box and scraping. I am aware of the naming and directory structure and all the movies and tv shows I currently have on all my other systems works just fine. It is since I've started using this Android TV box that it simply refuses to scrape, no matter what I do.
I've uninstalled it and re-installed it, I've changed the skins, I've formatted the hard drive to and from fat32 to ntfs and re-copied all my media back.

So to be honest I'm at a loss for words as to what is going on.

What versions of tmdb scraper is installed?

Specifically metadata.themoviedb.org and metadata.common.themoviedb.org

Sorry for this old thread,

but is there a solution found for this? I just buyed yesterday a new Android Box with 7.1 and installed Kodi Krypton, he find my movies and series, but it never starts.
I have the same Kodi on my HTPC and my NAS and it works without any problems.

In worst case is it possible to simply copy the database from PC to Android? just for Pictures and Movie informations? Smile

Thanks in advance,
