Win Unable to connect to internet in Kodi
#1
Hi

I just set up kodi and I'm having problems setting up any network connections. I noticed it first using the scraper but it looks like I can't connect to the internet at all because I get the message "Could not connect to repository" when trying to access the add-on repository as well. My internet does work and I do not have a proxy on my network. I checked that settings>system>Internet Access and the proxy server is disabled. I saw in some forum posts that changing my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 since that apparently helps. I added directories but the scraper isn't updating the movie details either. Image

Yes. Additionally I have let kodi through the firewall and only have windows defender as an AV.

Looks like intermittent problems with your local mirror. Try later.

There seems to be some issues with various scrapers recently (Artwork Downloader, and possibly others)...

Your Gateway is marked 0.0.0.0 it should reflect your IP,

Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
type the following command: ipconfig
default gateway (router) IP address is 192.168.0.1 or something like that.

I can't see the pic for some reason, but if ping works, gateway must be properly set.

Here's the image. Ran ipconfig and my default gateway is 192.168,x,x Seems like I need to somehow change it in Kodi

Kodi is an application. It just uses the operating system's networking. So if the operating system works, Kodi will work. Kodi does however sometimes misreport network settings.

You can't. Kodi is just (mis) reading the settings from the OS. You cannot change this from within kodi. That doesn't indicate a problem though. Kodi does that a lot without negatively impacting anything.

That's from my logfile when I tried to run it. I disabled Windows defender and firewall completely and I still can't update the details of any movies or TV shows. I installed kodi on another laptop on the same network and still got the gateway as 0.0.0.0 but kodi does work perfectly fine on that one.

When in doubt, reboot.

1. Reboot your Windows PC (what version do you have installed)?

2. Run IPConfig and verify your IP address and Gateway. Are these correct on your Router? Is this a static IP address or a DHCP from your router?

3. Verify you have internet access (go to a link in Google that you have never been before, and make sure it loads). Go to https://fanart.tv/ and verify you can search for a Movie or TV show, and can see all the artwork for it.

4. If everything above is correct, start Kodi. Do you have any Skins installed, or is this default Kodi with default Skin. Which version of Kodi are you running?

5. Now please list exactly what you are doing (and how you got there) that your Movies and TV Shows aren't updating.

6. For Movie or TV Show scraping, are you using IMDB, TVDB, Universal Scraper?

@momochand partial logs are useless.

Start logging including ccurl logging.
Restart Kodi
Scan your library
Post your full log.
