installing kodi 17 on Debian Stretch?
#1
I was reading the kodi wiki on how to install on linux but for Debian it seems to focus on Jessie and not Stretch. How can I install Kodi 17 on Stretch?

Would it just be a question of changing from:
deb http://http.debian.net/debian jessie-backports main

to

deb http://http.debian.net/debian stretch-backports main

(Assuming thier is a "stretch-backports" and that kodi 17 is in there?)

Thx in advance!

https://packages.debian.org/stretch/kodi

They have 17.1, but mind you, debian's kodi packages are not supported here.

Thanks for the nfo.

Is there another/recommended way for those who are running Debian to run Kodi (that would be supported here)?

Your distribution is your first level support.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I installed Kodi 17.1 on stretch without any issues. I wouldn't worry too much about whether the packages are supported here or not -- almost any issue you're likely to have won't be related to the packaging. All the standard advice/instructions you'll get here will apply.

Code:
echo 'deb http://pipplware.pplware.pt/pipplware/dists/stretch/main/binary/ /' | sudo tee --append /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pipplware_stretch.list
wget -O - http://pipplware.pplware.pt/pipplware/key.asc | sudo apt-key add -

How to make Kodi 17.4 booted when reboot Raspberry pi3 ?
