I was reading the
kodi wiki on how to install on linux but for Debian it seems to focus on Jessie and not Stretch. How can I install Kodi 17 on Stretch?
Would it just be a question of changing from:
deb
http://http.debian.net/debian jessie-backports main
to
deb
http://http.debian.net/debian stretch-backports main
(Assuming thier is a "stretch-backports" and that kodi 17 is in there?)
Thx in advance!

Thanks for the nfo.
Is there another/recommended way for those who are running Debian to run Kodi (that would be supported here)?

Your distribution is your first level support.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I installed Kodi 17.1 on stretch without any issues. I wouldn't worry too much about whether the packages are supported here or not -- almost any issue you're likely to have won't be related to the packaging. All the standard advice/instructions you'll get here will apply.
