I have a WeTekPlay2 (https://wetek.com/product/wetek-play2) which comes with Kodi 16.1 pre-installed and is able play all my home video recordings taken on my Sony RX100 Mrk IV digital camera perfectly smoothly. WeTek package Kodi 16.1 up and call it WePlayer . I have also installed Kodi 17.3 and the same video files do not play back smoothly at all. There is a lot of buffering, stuttering and scenes just don't look right. I have tried changing the player settings for Refresh rate to Always and Start/Stop, but this has made no difference. Are there any other settings I can look into to get smooth playback?

WeTekPlay2 use the Quad-core (Amlogic S905H) CPU, are there any settings to use Hardware acceleration for this CPU?

I use a Wetek Hub which is a very similar device & works perfectly with Kodi 17.3, but the info you need will likely be in the thread above.

Thanks for your reply. I will take a look at that link. Did you need to change any settings to get videos to playback fine or it is an out of the box setup?

I'm not sure about out of the box as I installed a custom ROM on there, I did this as the refresh rate switching was a bit flaky on the WeOS ROM. I believe there are some custom ROM's for the Play2, you'll probably find more info in the thread.
