HD audio management issue
#1
Hi
I'm a bit lost so I need your help!
Here is my set-up: I use Kodi (libreElec) on a mini M8SII box, which is connected to my AVR in SPDIF. My AVR is not compatible with DTS HD and Dolby Digital Plus formats. Kodi is configured with passthrough with DTS and DD compatible options checked, the rest unchecked.
I understood that if the source is DTS HD or DD+, Kodi will send PCM 5.1 if through HDMI and PCM stereo if through SPDIF, correct?

My issue is: is there a way to get 5.1 sound when the source is in one of these format? is so, how?
thanks for your help!

Normally, if you have DTS-HD and DolbyDigital-TrueHD unchecked and you want to play such a file (containing those HD audio-streams), Kodi should only play its core stream. For DTS-HD this will be DTS and for DolbyDigital-TrueHD it will be DolbyDigital.

Assuming you have DTS and DD checked, which you said you have.

ok thanks!
so, when I played a DD+ source and that my AVR was only seeing it as stereo, there was an issue somewhere since it should have been dispalyed as DD...
