tvheadend m3u / IPTV Simple / Channel logos
#1
Hello all

I use iptv simple in combination with tvheadend (offical ubuntu version) both run on ubuntu 16.04.
for kodi I use the ppa for xenial from team xbmc.

I choose iptv simple because of problems I get with epg when I use another pvr client.

the epg works fine. but i have trouble getting the channels logos ti work. the logos are png file 220x150px. futher i have adapted the filename of the logos to the channel names in the m3u file i got from tvheadend.

Quote:
#EXTINF:-1,SRF 1 HD
http://....

so I named the logo file SRF 1 HD.png. but this dosen't work. Of course I set the path to the directory with the logo files. how does iptv simple recognize the channel logo files?

as an alternative i tried to configure the logos using the channel manager. this works until i close kodi. after a restart of kodi the logo settings got lost. i checked the permissions of my ~/.kodi . thes seem to be ok. does somebody know, where the channel manager stores the settings. perhaps i can edit the settings file.

kind regards, roland

Which version of tvheadend are you using? Logo names couldn't have spaces until v4.3-240-gd7a848c

If your version is earlier than that - you need to replace the spaces with %20
Current Kodi addon projects: zap2epg, sd4tvh and tvh2kodi (tvh config from inside Kodi)

Try specify the logo in the m3u using the tag, and there is a setting in iptv simple client to either specify the channel logo base (not sure how this works) or to prefer the m3u file. Hopefully this works.

Example. (This is from my m3u)

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-ID="sometvtag" tvg-name="News Channel" tvg-logo="https://www.logoserver.com/news.png" group-title="News",News Channel
http:// .....
