New to Kodi, looking for first box
#1
Hey all, I'm new to this Kodi thing, so please forgive my ignorance in advance.

I'm looking to buy my first box and am feeling a little overwhelmed. There's a few things that I would like it to have:
-The ability to plug a flash drive in to play videos off of
-An ethernet port
-The option to still be able to use Android TV as well as Kodi
-Reliable, tried-and-true, won't give me too much hassle as a first timer

I have looked around the forums a little before posting, and it seems that any of the WeTek boxes would be a great fit for my needs. Am I wrong in thinking this? It seems like they have a great reputation, and are reasonably priced. Does anyone have any advice for a first time buyer? Suggestions as to which of the three current WeTek boxes to go with for my needs? Alternatives?

Thanks a bunch in advance, and sorry if I have broken any forum rules with this post!

I already looked through that thread, that's how I narrowed it down to the three WeTek boxes. Was just hoping for some extra input before I pull the trigger.

I have the Wetek Hub & it works great, but if I were you I'd probably spend the extra tenner & get the Play2 Smile

Agreed the Play2 with 2GB RAM runs Android and the Android TV ROM better. Android likes more RAM. LibreELEC does not care, 1GB is fine.
The Hub's remote is terrible.

Flashing Android TV to the Play2 really is not hard and installing LibreELEC Kodi to a micro SDHC is really easy with the LibreELEC Installer software.

In reality a Wireless remote like my favourite the MINIX A2 Lite improves any Infra Red only remote box experience.

Most important of the lot when choosing any device is work out what Audio and Video features & Apps are most import and go from there, make a list.

Am I going to be able to play videos off a flash drive with any box that has a USB port? It seems to me like some of them just have it for expandable storage?
