Release Embuary Skin
#31
Sualfred - I have to say again... Wow! I'm so impressed by how this is turning out. Before I made Horizon I was thinking a fair bit about doing a skin like this with a top horizontal menu and a content store type arrangement below. I'm really glad that someone has pretty much done exactly what I was envisaging in my head! Big Grin

Well done! Nod
Arctic Fuse - Alpha now available. Support me on Ko-fi.

Thanks mate, but I haven't reinvented the wheel. I have only caught myself that I have used the Emby web interface more than Kodi. Too bad that I'm not able to create 100% of the same workflow as in the web gui.

This is coming on really nicely, can I just ask how you got your sky cinema and all those channels on your Kodi? Is there a way to link Sky to it?

Im an avid emby user, my whole house runs from 8TB on my main machine, m3u with full guide the whole lot all via emby so this is just perfect for me, you've done such a good job in regards to replicating the emby interface, well done pal, looks simply beautiful

Wow, looks like nothing I've seen before on Kodi!
One question, do we have to have Emby for this to work or will any Kodi library work?

Keep up the good work and thanks for the hard work!

It will work for all libraries.
And yeah, donations are welcome. Link is in my signature Smile

Well, that looks perfect to me. Can't wait for the release :-))

Are you still planing on only publishing for Krypton, or is there a chance we will see a Leia release as well? Just asking because - as I read - Leia is already quiet "stable" and there are some new  features that have people slowly moving to it (e.g. voice search in Android). First beta release should not be to too far anymore. But I will make my move subject to your project. ;-)

Another question: I recall there was some discussion about a special EmbyCon support (I guess it was in the Emby forum). Have you included something like that? Not sure if EmbyCon will allow to use features like Android voice search, Alexa skill commands etc., or if this will still require to use local databases.

Currently it's based on Krypton, because Angelblue05 hasn't updated his Emby For Kodi plugin yet. Leia won't be released as stable this year, so there is no need to hurry. Only a few windows and dialogs are missing and the skin is 90% ready. I'm only facing a lot of work at my job and my side job, so it's really hard to find the time to complete the other ones.

EmbyCon is supported by default. But since it doesn't follow the rules of default labels, it won't fit perfectly atm. The devs are informed and we already discussed it internally.

I do not use Alexa or Android for my devices, so I'm not familiar with it and how it's implemented by Kodi. That's something you should ask in the General board.

I have been looking forward to trying this out!

I downloaded a zip of the master branch from the github repo, but upon install I get a dependency error about skin helper service.

Is this the recommended way to install, or do you have a Kodi repository somewhere?

Your better off installing from the repo (and then make sure to also install marcels repo) where you’ll get all the dependencies such as skin helper, skin shortcuts etc
