version confusion

When using the official ember website and clicking on Download you are redirected to here
http://wiki.embermediamanager.org/index....e=Download

There is the information that 1.3 is the last stable version but not supported anymore.
I should use 1.4 as a beta. Of course I will not for productive use!

Here in the forum are some infos about 1.7 and 1.8. So what is up here? Could you please update the informations on the website. I am not sure which stable version I can use and where to get it.

Fully understand your confusion, 1.3 is dead for many years
The latest version from Dan Cooper is the so called alpha and is found here https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=259449, this is the "stable" version
There is also a newer version compiled by a community member here https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=316733

Remember that Dan is the only developer working on Ember and doing it in his spare time and he is aware of the confusing versions and have promised an 1.5 any time soon.

As you seems not to used Ember before go for the Alpha, it's a solid version

Bodrick is no longer involved in development. Latest code is always hosted on my Github: Link
But you're right, to Wiki is outdated. I will try to cleanup all the information on all sites if I release the 1.5 Beta (will be tagged as 1.4.9). Working hard to get the ready for a "feature freeze" state to only fix bugs.

P.S.: The official website http://embermediamanager.org/ does no longer list the Wiki, but holds all important links to the english and german forum, also the link to our bug tracker.

Thanks for explaination. The name for your repository is confusing! And you have a second "ember" repo in under your user-name. You should clean this up or give more detailed informations about this repos in the top of each repos page and how they are related to each other. I would never assume the current "official" ember in "Ember-MM-Newscraper". Wink
