v17 Shade or iconify Kodi 17.4 during video reproduction causes video freezes

If I shade or iconify (minimize) Kodi 17.4 during video reproduction, after restoring the normal window the video reproduction freezes for some seconds. The sound keeps on rolling just fine but the video freezes, and the longer I keep it shaded or iconified the longer it will take for the video to be updated and running normally.

This issue has been mentioned before, it's been around since the first Kodi 17.x release. Some bugs have been correct but this one slipped away.

Maybe some kind of video refresh should happen in these situations, perhaps that would solve it.

It's something that as been mentioned before, even I brought it up before... but no problem, I'm here to help, here's a debug log with it happening.

First I started a video and shaded Kodi's window, let it shaded for 20 seconds; when I restored the window the video froze for about 10 seconds.
Then I iconified (minimized) Kodi's window to the title bar for 20 seconds; again when I restored the normal window the video was frozen for about 10 seconds.

I literally have no idea what that is and what it is for and how and when and why it should be used.

http://trac.kodi.tv is a bugtracker where one can file and document bugs. They won't be forgotten as easily as forum posts.
