Picture aspect issues on playback

Hi all.

I'm having a slight problem with vertical black bars on play back.
I've got a Windows 10 PC hooked up to my LG UH650V TV, running Kodi 17.4.

Even though it's a 4K TV, I've got the PC running at 1080p, purely because it hasn't really got the processing power to run 4K.

When I start Kodi everything is fine, the GUI fills the display. But when I play back any video I'm getting black lines down the side. Not major, but they are still there.

I've tried messing with the video settings, but just don't seem to be able to find a good solution.

I've attached a screen shot.

Would really appreciate some guidance.

Thanks in advance.

Please fix your TV's "Overscan" settings, somewhere in the picture menu depending on the brand (A TV setting - not a kodi one).
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Actually you put me on the right track. Found the problem. My TV was set to 60 Hertz and by turning off Adjust display refresh rate in Kodi's player setting it has resolved the issue.

Thanks.
