Do the recordings, scheduled recordings and timeshifts work as well?

Thanks a lot for having brought it back! Smile
 Record, scheduled record and timeshift works well, only an error occurs (at least to me) when I try to view a recorded program, it fails, but I deal with this creating a new share in videos section pointing the recordings folder and now I can view them.

If you throw up a debug log, i may be able to have a look at it.

The url's look to be ok. Below are 2 that are trying to be opened. They retry 25 times, as per FileReader::Open using just the normal xbmc OpenFile method. Can you try the bottom 2 links using something like VLC. Do they work and resolve ok?

None of that has been touched in the fixup at all. Does it actually work with Kodi 17?

What follow is just my guess...so please forgive me if it is not correct! Wink

I don't know if you have re-installed ARGUS TV or just used the old installation having updated Kodi with the new PVR client, but if you take a look to the ARGUS TV installation guide section 4.4 "Recordings share(s)" is exactly saying what you did afterwards. It is important to set the sharing rights for the folders related to recordings. Btw, ARGUS TV allows you to test the shares from its Scheduler Console (see topic “Testing the Recording Shares” in the installation guide).

The links works with VLC, and yes all functions of argus prv work well in my system using kodi 17 both from libreelec and windows 10.
I think that you didn't touch that but it have to be touched to work, or maybe samba related, I don't know.
Tested in windows with same result.
Thank you.

Could be samba related i guess. Are your SMB shares using an account, or anonymous? LibreElec has changed a lot with samba over the Leia dev cycle. Any way you can test the plugin on a different machine (windows/linux/mac)?? Just to rule out samba changes in LibreElec.

Maybe try Milhouse's latest build. He has pushed some changes to enable settings for SMB_min_protocol set to SMB1 and use legacy security that should provide the same sort of usage as was experienced with kodi 17 builds.

 With an account from libreelec and without from windows.
Ok, I'll try latest build, but the problem is in windows build too, so.

Does argus provide somewhere to set share account info for recordings? If it was passing on account info for use, i would have thought the url's passed may have the \\user:pass@Server\share\file syntax.

Unfortunately i dont run argustv, so i cant test any of this sorry.

I can't set share account.
The program needs that you share the recording and timeshift folders, but I don't know exactly what for. Sorry for my ignorance on this.

To my knowledge, the sharing account of the recording and timeshift folders has to be set directly under Windows (ARGUS TV just provide a button to test if the shared folders are set ok): right click on the folder, sharing options and set "Everyone" as writing and reading access rights. Did you make such passages?

Take a look to the installation manual I have mentioned in my previous post. May be I'm wrong, but it could be a possible to give it a try.

Yes, the recording and timeshift folders are tested in ArgusTV program (scheduler console - recorders - test shares) in windows, and are ok, and set as everyone share, so again is not the problem there, and if the problem were the Argustv software configuration and not the plugin (or kodi itself, as is a beta) it would not work in kodi 17 either.
I don't know if you read my previous post, but if not I said that the only thing that in not working is to view a previously recorded program, the other functions works well.
Did you test it and is working for you? (to view a recording like in 17)
Thanks.

I don't know if this will help or not, I made some test with the two versions in windows to see what is changing from one to another, and checked the same recording in both:
Windows 10 version 1709, Kodi 18.0-ALPHA1 Git:20171119-67fd70f, latest 32x development build.
Result: Can't play the recording, here the log;
https://paste.ubuntu.com/26007396/
Windows 10 version 1709, Kodi 17.6 Git:20171114-a9a7a20, latest stable.
Result: Recording plays perfectly, and the log;
https://paste.ubuntu.com/26007428/
Both clean installs.
Thank you.

Try forcing Samba in Kodi to only v1 (there's a new option in the settings).  I had the same problem which affected Emby and Argus and this fixed it.

BTW: Thanks so much for keeping Argus going with Kodi, I've got years of archived recordings and do not relish the idea of migrating to something less functional.
