OS X Kodi 17.x w/ MythTV crashes
#1
Hi All,
Long time listener, first time caller. I wasn't sure whether I should post this in the OS X or pvr.mythtv so apologies in advance if I guessed wrong.

System/App Info:
macOS Version: 10.12.6
Platform: Mac Mini Late 2012 (Macmini6,1)
Hardware Specs: i5-3210M, 16GB RAM, 2 hard drive (1 x 256GB SSD for OS & Apps, 1 x 750GB platter drive for recording data)
Install Method: DMG
Version of Kodi: Currently 17.4 release but also effects 17.1, 17.2, and 17.3. 17.0 DOES NOT have this issue.
Version of Mythtv: v0.28.1-38-geef6a48
System Arch: x86_64

Debug Logs:
Crash to Desktop Log: https://pastebin.com/KFY8LRLy
Memory Eating Log: https://pastebin.com/NbUU639E

I'm running into an issue w/ what I *think* is pvr.mythtv on my Mac Mini and Kodi 17.1-4 (17.0 works fine), where one of 2 scenarios occur. This is also running on an as out of the box install of Kodi as possible, the only thing I've really configured is enabling the mythtv pvr plugin. Figured as stock as possible would be a good place to start for troubleshooting:
1) Launch Kodi and it begins to load guide info from the database and will almost immediately crash Kodi to desktop. The app is maybe running for all of about 5 seconds (See Crash to Desktop Log)
2) Launch Kodi and it begins to load guide info from the database, but instead of crashing Kodi to desktop, it will hang somewhere in the 10-20% completion range (I don't think I've seen it go past ~20%) and will immediately peg my CPU and proceed to eat through all of my system's RAM until OS X kicks in and "pauses" Kodi, requiring me to force quit Kodi. (See Memory Eating Log) and this screenshot (Full image URL: https://ibin.co/3YNRfhkmJP0Q.png) :

I've been crawling through the logs for a good chunk of the day but haven't really found a smoking gun. I never encounter this in Kodi 16.x, it seems to only have appeared starting with 17.1+, so I'm sure if it's an issue with the plugin itself or Kodi. Has anyone else seen or encountered this before? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm still digging into this, but it looks like I get a little more stability out of it if I disable caching guide data to Kodi's database. So if I have to pull guide from Mythtv every time on launch it seems to be a more reliable.
