Library not scanning updating tv show.
#1
I am using windows 7 with 17.4 , closed off from the Internet - access to local network only - for 2 reasons - to completely disable firewall , and the htpc is a dedicated machine all the naming work I do on another PC - so it made sense to have the source set to local rather than tvdb. I am using the latest version of Media Companion.

I have scraped several seasons of Dr Who ( 2005 ) - using MC , I believe based on the wiki that I have the folder and naming structure correct .
when I scan into the library , it will scan and add 1 season only - sometimes season 8 , sometimes 9 . I have removed and added the source several time trying to get it to add all 3 seasons I have ready. All episodes are showing up and working when I go into file location. I have tried adding individual episodes via scan to library on the context menu .

I will add screenshots of folder structure in next post as well as full logs.

what I see in the log is that when I try to add individual episodes - it throws errors saying no tvshow ( info file Huh? ) - I can tell you there is one.
also it refuses to scan folders using out dated folder names that have been corrected , and previous to the last time I added/removed source to clean the library DB. also Kodi seems to attempt to reach tvdb.com ( which it obviously wont be able to )

any assistance appreciated

What is in that "files" subdirectory?

The logs are no good. You need to enable debugging mode in Settings>System Settings>Logging. Then restart. Then perform an Update Library.

According to the info in your first post, your issue is your nfo files. Most likely not compatible or incorrectly created. What is MC?

Can you post your TV Show nfo and an Episode nfo to pastebin.

Also read the wiki on nfo requirements... http://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files

here is tvshow.info

here is an episode
https://pastebin.com/6DrSmA5v

as I said MC is media companion https://mediacompanion.codeplex.com/

I am going to have to break the debug into several chunks it is too large

when looking at the tvshow.info , MC was also used to produce the info for 800 words . the debugs shows that scrape had no problem with that one

things that I found interesting :
19:37:59.556 T:2104 WARNING: VIDEO::CVideoInfoScanner:Tonguerocess directory 'smb://TOWER/TV/doctor who (2005)/season8/.files/DOCTOR_WHO_S8_D1/BDMV/PLAYLIST/' does not exist - skipping scan -

I redid the folder structure and purged the libary after doing so - this should not be showing up - as it points out the path no longer exisits ( there is another enty for house of cards which I also removed

also :
19:37:59.537 T:2104 ERROR: CCurlFile::Open failed with code 0 for http://www.thetvdb.com/api/6E82FED600783...all/en.zip

I have it set for local scrape - why isit still attempting to reach tvdb.com

I also see the .nomedia tag does not apply to nested folders - as that is what is in the files folder . the strm files point to locations in the folder ( dont want them scanned )

A little bit confused. Actually, quite confused. I don't understand what you have done.

Your images show you trying to scrape 'strm' files which are correctly named, but your log is showing you trying to scrape preserved BluRay Structure with a completely different naming convention.

Can you explain??

PHP Code:
19:37:11.841 T:2104   DEBUGVideoInfoScannerFound episode match smb://TOWER/TV/doctor who (2005)/season8/files/DOCTOR_WHO_S8_D1/BDMV/BACKUP/PLAYLIST/00001.mpls (s0e1) [[\\/\._ -]([0-9]+)([0-9][0-9](?:(?:[a-i]|\.[1-9])(?![0-9]))?)([\._ -][^\\/]*)$]
19:37:11.842 T:2104   DEBUGVideoInfoScannerFound episode match smb://TOWER/TV/doctor who (2005)/season8/files/DOCTOR_WHO_S8_D1/BDMV/BACKUP/PLAYLIST/00002.mpls (s0e2) [[\\/\._ -]([0-9]+)([0-9][0-9](?:(?:[a-i]|\.[1-9])(?![0-9]))?)([\._ -][^\\/]*)$]

And I did ask you what was inside the "files" folder>

Also, there is something amiss with your logs. They don't seem to match up.

So, please post your logs again. No split logs. No accidental removal of parts of the logs.

ok the files folders contain the actua; bluray files - either in iso form ( 9 & 10 ) or folder form ( 8 ) . And you have also hit on something that I noticed as well.

Yes I have changed the folder structure going forward, as I was attempting to get everything to scrape correctly . Even though I have clensed the library several times since then - using the change content method , it still seems to be trying to look for those . Why it is still looking for files that no longer exist is beyond me. As you can see there is stilla reference to house of cards - which is no longer part of my archive.

so this is my structure

dr who 2005 ------------
season8 ----------------

files ----------------------

bluray files

episode links to bluray playlist ( this works )
episode.info
episode art
tvshow.info
tvshow art

I tried to stop the scan looking in the files folder by using .nomedia.

Can you explain in more detail what the strm files are for? might help if you posted the content of a couple of them for us to understand.

I ask as both the strm and iso/folder structure files are being scraped, but the iso and folder structure files are named incorrectly for any scraping to happen.

In addition to what @jjd-uk said...

If you have the proper media files, then why are you using stream files to access the media files that are on the same exact drive?
