Using 'Wall' display without metadata
#1
Hi. I've just started using Kodi having said goodbye to my old WDTV Live Hub. I want to keep my videos in the same folders as were on the WDTV. Some of these folders had subfolders. I have no interest at all in metadata – the filename is all I need.

My new player is a Minix U9 and my videos are on a USB powered HDD plugged into the Minix. Kodi displays all my videos in a long, vertical list, one video per line. I want to see them in a 'grid' formation and so I did this by using the 'set content' function. I was then able to choose from different layouts and opted for 'Wall'.

I was quite happy until I tried to play a video. Instead of playing it, Kodi asks me to 'Enter the movie name'. Sure, I can just click 'OK' but I don't want to have to do that for every video. Is there a way to get the videos on my HDD showing in 'Wall' and be immediately playable?

My sincere thanks to anyone able to assist.

Switch to a different skin to have more view options in File view, for example the old default Confluence.
