Hi, I just recently heard of kodi and want to buy the latest and fastest version. Can anyone recommend what to buy please. Thanks!

Kodi is Free Open Source Software (FOSS). There is nothing to purchase. There is no "fastest" version.
Simply go to the download page and download Kodi appropriate for the operating system you are using... https://kodi.tv/download
Install it, connect it to your TV via HDMI, and you are up and running.
