UHD playback issue
#1
Hi, running an amlogic device with libreelec 17.4.

UHD Discs are now able to be backed up with publicly available software but kodi doesnt seem to like playing back the videos in a folder structure like it does with standard bluray backups.
i have to manually go in and play the m2ts file. none of the the playlists do anything. folders are scanned into library, but unable to be played back.

Please always provide a FULL debug enabled kodi.log file, and not just the part(s) that you find interesting. Smile
Bugs and errors can start at any moment.

Try creating a mkv from that movie.

The reason might be that a UHD disc might have a different folder structure as a normal BR has. But that's only a guess. Not sure if any team member has a UHD drive in their PCs to test with.

yes, file video format plays perfect, its just the file structure of the disc, in my log snippet you can see the difference vs a standard bluray which kodi is thinking it is, just not sure if its something easily fixable. but thought i'd mention it because the time for UHD backup is here.

Sure. It's not the problem, that we don't want to, we just don't have the hardware yet. But I guess that will change soon.

Give us a little more time and use mkv for the time being. Unfortunately that's the only solution a non-dev could give you now Wink. Maybe someone else will jump in who knows more about that progress.

Ultra HD Blu-ray support was added to libbluray at the end of august: http://git.videolan.org/?p=libbluray.git;a=shortlog . I'll update our windows libbluray builds when there's a new release.

Did this get sorted in the final window release ?

 No.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
